TASU Post UTME/DE Form 2026/2027: Eligibility, Application Steps and Cut-Off Marks

Taraba State University (TASU), Jalingo, has opened its 2026/2027 Post UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise for candidates seeking undergraduate admission into the university.

The online screening exercise began on 24 July 2026 and will close on 31 October 2026.

Only candidates who selected TASU as their first-choice institution are eligible to participate. UTME candidates must have scored at least 150 in the 2026 UTME, although some programmes require higher scores.

How to Apply for TASU Post UTME/DE Screening

Candidates should complete the screening application through the TASU online registration portal:

Follow these steps:

1. Visit the TASU online registration portal.
2. Create an applicant account.
3. Complete all sections of the application form.
4. Upload the required credentials.
5. Review the information entered and submit the form.
6. Make the required online payment using a Mastercard, Visa or Verve card.
7. Print the payment receipt.
8. Print the acknowledgement slip.

Candidates should carefully check their names, examination details, O’Level results and other information before submitting the application. Errors in the information supplied may affect the screening and admission process.

Who Is Eligible for TASU Post UTME?

UTME candidates must satisfy the university’s admission requirements before applying.

To be eligible, a UTME candidate must:

• Have selected Taraba State University, Jalingo, as first choice.
• Score at least 150 in the 2026 UTME.
• Have five relevant O’Level credit passes.
• Have credit passes in English Language and Mathematics.
• Obtain the required O’Level credits in not more than two sittings.
• Meet the higher UTME score required for the chosen programme, where applicable.

The 150 UTME score is the general minimum for many TASU programmes. However, programmes such as Law, Nursing Science, Mass Communication and Computer Science have higher course-specific cut-off marks.

TASU Direct Entry Eligibility

Direct Entry candidates must also have selected TASU as their first-choice institution and possess the appropriate academic qualification for their intended programme.

An eligible Direct Entry candidate must have:

• At least Lower Credit in a Diploma, NCE or IJMB qualification.
• Five relevant O’Level credit passes.
• The required O’Level subjects in no more than two sittings.

The Direct Entry qualification and O’Level subjects must be relevant to the programme being applied for.

TASU Screening Payment

The screening payment is made online after completing the application and uploading the required credentials.

The portal accepts:

• Mastercard
• Visa
• Verve

The admission notice supplied for the 2026/2027 exercise does not state the amount payable for the screening application.

Documents to Upload

Candidates are required to upload the relevant academic and other credentials requested during the online application.

What Happens If a Candidate Provides False Information?

Candidates must provide accurate information throughout the screening process.

Any false declaration may result in disqualification at any stage of the admission process. Applicants should therefore ensure that their personal details, examination information, O’Level results and uploaded credentials are accurate and consistent.

Can a Candidate Who Scored 150 Apply?

Yes. A candidate with a UTME score of 150 can apply for a TASU programme whose stated cut-off is 150 or above, provided the candidate also meets the other admission requirements.

Candidates applying for programmes with higher cut-off marks must meet the specific score listed for those programmes.

Can a Second-Choice Candidate Apply?

No. The screening exercise is for candidates who selected Taraba State University as their first-choice institution.

Candidates who did not choose TASU as their first choice do not meet the stated eligibility condition for this screening exercise.

Are Mathematics and English Required?

Yes. UTME candidates are required to have five relevant O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in no more than two sittings.

Candidates must also meet any additional subject requirements applicable to their chosen programme.
