Rivers State University Releases 2026/2027 Post UTME and Direct Entry Screening Details; Rivers State University has announced the commencement of its Post UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Candidates who selected RSU during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and received notification from JAMB are advised to carefully review the screening guidelines before proceeding with registration.
The university stated that only candidates who selected RSU as their first-choice institution are eligible to apply.
Eligibility Requirements for RSU Post UTME
Rivers State University will only screen candidates who chose the institution as their first-choice university during UTME registration.
Candidates who selected another institution as their preferred choice are not eligible for the screening exercise.
Applicants must also score a minimum of 190 in the 2026 UTME. The cut-off mark applies to all faculties and departments in the university.
O’Level Requirements
Candidates must possess at least five relevant O’Level credit passes required for their chosen course of study. The subject requirements must align with the specifications listed in the official JAMB brochure.
Applicants are required to upload their O’Level results during the registration process.
Candidates awaiting their O’Level results are also allowed to apply, but they must clearly indicate their status while completing the registration form.
The university noted that no admission will be approved without a valid O’Level result.
RSU Post UTME Registration Date
The university announced that online registration for the screening exercise begins on Monday, 18 May 2026.
The registration portal will close on Sunday, 7 June 2026.
Candidates are advised to complete their registration within the approved period.
How to Register for RSU Post UTME
Applicants are required to complete their registration online through the RSU application portal.
Payments are to be made using a debit card.
The university also encouraged candidates to make use of the online chat support available on the portal for further guidance.
Candidates may also visit the Information Communication and Technology Centre (ICTC), Rivers State University, for assistance with registration and biometric verification.
Important Details Candidates Must Verify
Candidates are advised to ensure that all personal details provided match the information used during JAMB registration.
Incorrect information such as names, phone numbers, or profile details may create issues during the screening process.
The university stated that the screening exercise will be computer-based. Candidates are therefore encouraged to practise basic computer operations, especially the use of a mouse and keyboard.
The screening test will be conducted at the university’s ICTC.
Screening Slip and Examination Schedule
After completing the online registration, candidates must print their screening test slip.
The screening slip will contain important details including:
- Screening date
- Examination time
- Venue for the test
Candidates are required to strictly follow the schedule stated on their slip.
RSU stated that no candidate will be allowed to take the examination after the assigned date.
Rules at the Screening Venue
All candidates must appear for the screening exercise on the exact date and time stated on their screening slip.
Candidates who fail to attend their scheduled screening will not be considered for admission.
Parents, guardians, and other visitors are advised to stay away from the screening venue.
RSU Admission Updates
The university stated that additional updates regarding the screening exercise will be published on the official RSU website.
The names of successful candidates offered admission will also be released through the same platform.
