Redeemer’s University Gets NUC Approval for 10 New Undergraduate Programmes; Redeemer’s University, Ede, Nigeria, has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to establish 10 new full-time undergraduate programmes beginning from the 2026/2027 academic session.
The approval expands the range of undergraduate programmes available at the university and applies to the full-time mode of study.
Why NUC Approved the New Programmes
The approval followed a resource verification exercise conducted by a panel of experts constituted by the National Universities Commission.
The exercise assessed the human and material resources available at Redeemer’s University for the proposed programmes.
Following the verification exercise, the NUC formally communicated its approval to the university in a letter signed by Abubakar M. Girei, Director of Academic Planning, on behalf of the NUC Executive Secretary.
The newly approved programmes will be offered at the university’s main campus.
List of 10 New Redeemer’s University Programmes
The 10 undergraduate programmes approved by the NUC are:
- B.Sc. Broadcasting
- B.Sc. Public Relations
- B.Sc. Advertising
- B.Sc. Information and Media Studies
- B.Sc. Journalism and Media Studies
- B.A. Film Production
- B.Sc. Criminology and Security Studies
- B.Sc. Biotechnology
- B.Sc. Software Engineering
- B.Sc. Information Systems
The new programmes cover areas including media and communication, film production, security studies, biotechnology and information technology.
When Will the New Programmes Begin?
The 10 newly approved programmes will be available from the 2026/2027 academic session.
The approval covers full-time undergraduate study at Redeemer’s University’s main campus.

Redeemer’s University Expands Academic Programmes
Commenting on the approval, the Vice-Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Prof. Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, said the development reflects the university’s continued academic expansion.
He also stated that the university remains focused on programmes connected to industry needs and changing areas of study.
The addition of the 10 programmes will give prospective students more full-time undergraduate study options as the university prepares for the 2026/2027 academic session.
