NUC Accredits 11 FUBK Academic Programmes

NUC Accredits 11 FUBK Academic Programmes. The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to 11 academic programmes at the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), following its October/November 2025 accreditation exercise.

The result was formally communicated in a letter dated 7 April 2026, signed by Engr. Abraham Chundusu, Director of Accreditation, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the NUC.


How the Accreditation Was Announced

According to a statement issued by the university’s Head of Information and Public Relations, Mr Jamilu Magaji, the accreditation outcome was officially delivered to the institution in April 2026.

He confirmed that all 11 programmes listed in the report received full accreditation status, covering both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

These programmes span the sciences, humanities, and management disciplines, reflecting a broad-based academic structure within the institution.


Vice-Chancellor’s Reaction

The Vice-Chancellor of FUBK, Muhammad Zaiyan-Umar, described the accreditation outcome as a strong validation of the university’s academic progress and institutional standards.

He attributed the success to:

  • Support from the university’s Governing Council
  • Dedication from students across affected departments

He further reaffirmed the university’s long-term goal of building a globally competitive institution with strong academic credibility.
