The Management of Niger Delta University (NDU) has announced a review of tuition and related charges for newly admitted students, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to a receipt issued from the Office of the Bursar, fresh students in the Nursing Science Department will now pay ₦158,000, covering acceptance fees, development levy, medical examination, ICT levy, library levy, and other compulsory charges.
This reflects an increase of ₦7,000 from last session’s approved fee of ₦151,000. The University attributed the adjustment to the rising cost of facility maintenance, equipment upgrades, and other student support services.
It is important to note that the increment applies only to new students, while returning students will continue with the previously approved fee structure.
The announcement has drawn mixed reactions from parents and students—some expressing concerns over economic hardship, while others view the adjustment as modest compared to fee increases in other Nigerian universities.
