      Jeremie Frimpong

Big news from Anfield! Liverpool have officially signed Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen for €35m (£29.5m) on a five-year deal.

The Dutch right-back comes in just hours after it was confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold is heading to Real Madrid in time for the Club World Cup. Frimpong, 24, is expected to slot right into Trent’s shoes in Arne Slot’s squad.

Frimpong had an incredible season with Leverkusen, playing a key role in their 2023-24 Bundesliga title win and making 53 appearances across all competitions last season as they finished second.

He’ll face some healthy competition at right-back from Conor Bradley, who just signed a new 4-year deal.

Fun fact: Frimpong was born in Amsterdam, but raised in Manchester, and came through Manchester City’s academy before spells at Celtic and then Leverkusen in 2021.

He now joins fellow Dutch stars Van Dijk, Gakpo, and Gravenberch at Liverpool

      But that’s not all…

Liverpool are also pushing to sign Florian Wirtz, with a £109m offer (add-ons included) now in advanced talks. The 22-year-old German forward is a top target — and the Reds believe they’re getting close to sealing the deal!

Thoughts, Reds fans? Is Frimpong the right replacement for Trent? And should Liverpool go all out for Wirtz? Let’s hear it below!
