Tech billionaire and X owner Elon Musk has removed a post accusing President Donald Trump of being named in classified FBI files linked to Jeffrey Epstein, the financier who died in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking minors.
On Thursday, Musk posted, “@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files,” suggesting Trump’s delay in releasing the documents was self-serving. The claim came amid a feud, following Musk’s resignation as head of the Department of Government Efficiency and his criticism of Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” act, which extends tax cuts, strengthens immigration enforcement, and adds welfare work requirements.
The Financial Times confirmed Musk deleted the post as allies of both men push to mend ties. Tesla lost over $150 billion in market value hours after the spat, and Trump’s tax bill, narrowly passed in the House, now risks Senate defeat.
