Federal Polytechnic Ukana Announces Recruitment for Academic and Non-Teaching Staff; Federal Polytechnic Ukana has announced job vacancies for academic, administrative and support staff positions across the institution.
The recruitment exercise follows Federal Government directives on manpower development in polytechnic education and comes after the expansion of the institution’s academic programmes from 21 to 41.
The polytechnic is inviting qualified candidates to apply for various teaching and non-teaching positions across its schools and departments.
About Federal Polytechnic Ukana
Federal Polytechnic Ukana was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2014.
The institution is located at Ukana, Km 5, Ikot Ekpene-Abak Road, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Its establishment is backed by the Federal Polytechnics (Amendment) Act 2019.
The polytechnic operates two campuses, namely the Main Campus and the Annex Campus.
According to the institution, it currently has five schools, and all academic programmes offered by the polytechnic have received accreditation from the National Board for Technical Education.
The institution also stated that it possesses modern infrastructure and equipment to support teaching and learning.

Chief Lecturer – CONPCASS 9
Applicants must possess a PhD in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution with at least 15 years of cognate experience.
Candidates with a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline must have at least 18 years of cognate experience.

- Minimum of three years’ experience as Principal Lecturer
- Four published papers or articles in reputable journals
- Five book chapters or two standard textbooks since last promotion

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution.
The degree must not be below Second Class Lower Division, and applicants must have completed the National Youth Service Corps programme.
Applicants must also be willing to pursue postgraduate qualifications.
Technologist II – CONPCASS 2
Applicants must possess a Higher National Diploma or equivalent qualification alongside an NYSC discharge certificate.
Candidates may also qualify with a full technological certificate or equivalent qualification with at least three years of relevant experience.
Associate Membership of the Institute of Science Technologists (AIST) is also required.
Instructor – CONPCASS 2
Applicants must possess a Higher National Diploma in a relevant field from a recognised institution alongside an NYSC discharge certificate.
Candidates may also qualify with City and Guild FTC and Technical Teachers’ Certificate obtained from Federal College of Education Technical institutions with at least two years of work experience.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or related disciplines from a recognised institution.
The degree must not be below Second Class Lower Division, and applicants must have completed NYSC.

Applicants must possess an ND in Business Studies, Purchasing and Supply or Marketing.
Candidates must also have at least three years of cognate experience.

Applicants must possess Trade Test I certification in a relevant craft with at least five years of practical experience.

Candidates must possess a Senior School Certificate with four credits obtained in one sitting.
Alternatively, applicants may present five credits obtained in two sittings in relevant subjects.
Conditions of Service
Federal Polytechnic Ukana stated that the conditions of service for all positions follow the regulations applicable in Federal Polytechnics under the guidelines of the National Board for Technical Education and the Federal Government.
