The screening exercise is open to UTME candidates, Direct Entry applicants, and candidates who wish to change their institution of choice to Abia State University, provided they meet the University’s admission requirements.
ABSU Post UTME Screening 2026/2027
The online screening exercise is designed for candidates applying for admission into ABSU’s regular degree programmes. The University has stated that all eligible candidates must complete the screening process to be considered for admission.
The screening exercise covers:
- Candidates who selected Abia State University as their first-choice institution.
- Candidates who selected Abia State University as their second-choice institution.
- Candidates who did not initially choose ABSU during UTME registration but intend to change to the University.
- Candidates who scored at least 150 in the 2026 UTME.
- Candidates who possess the required five O’Level credit passes.
- All Direct Entry candidates.
ABSU Screening Method
Abia State University will conduct the screening exercise online through the submission and verification of academic records and admission documents.
Candidates are required to upload relevant documents and results on both the ABSU admission portal and the JAMB portal. Since the screening process is based on the information provided online, applicants should ensure that all uploaded records are accurate, complete, and up to date.

ABSU Post UTME Eligibility Requirements
To participate in the screening exercise, candidates must satisfy the admission requirements outlined by the University.
For UTME Candidates
Candidates applying through UTME must:
- Score a minimum of 150 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
- Possess at least five relevant O’Level credit passes as required for their chosen course of study.
- Change their institution to Abia State University if they did not initially select ABSU during UTME registration.
For Direct Entry Candidates
All Direct Entry applicants are eligible to participate in the screening exercise.
Candidates applying through Direct Entry are expected to upload all relevant academic qualifications and certificates required for admission consideration.

- Pay the screening fee of ₦2,000 through any approved payment channel.
