FUNAAB Deputy Bursar Margaret Omisope Appointed BOUESTI’s Second Substantive Bursar; Dr Margaret Omisope, Deputy Bursar I at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has been appointed the second substantive Bursar of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI), Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
FUNAAB announced the appointment in a statement issued by Mr Olasunkanmi Olajide, the Acting Head of the university’s Directorate of Public Relations.
The appointment recognises Omisope’s years of service in university financial administration, her professional experience and her academic achievements.
Margaret Omisope’s Career at FUNAAB
Dr Omisope began her career at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, in 1999 when she joined the Bursary Department as an Accountant II.
Through years of service and career progression, she rose to the position of Deputy Bursar I in 2024.
During her time at FUNAAB, she served in various divisions of the Bursary Department, gaining experience in financial administration and university accounting. She also served as the Acting Managing Director of UNAAB Microfinance Bank.
Her appointment as BOUESTI’s second substantive Bursar marks a new chapter in her career in university financial management.
Margaret Omisope’s Academic Qualifications
Dr Omisope has obtained several academic qualifications in accounting and business administration. Her educational background includes:
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Accounting: Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti, now Ekiti State University, in 1998.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA): University of Ado-Ekiti, now Ekiti State University, in 2003.
- Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Accounting: Babcock University, in 2022.
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Accounting: Babcock University, in 2026.
Her academic qualifications reflect her continued development in accounting, business administration and financial management.
Professional Qualifications and Memberships
In addition to her academic qualifications, Omisope is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
She also holds professional memberships in several organisations, including:

- Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria
- Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria

The Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB, Professor Babatunde Kehinde, congratulated Dr Omisope on her appointment as BOUESTI’s second substantive Bursar.
