Gombe State University ODL Part-Time Degree Admission Form for 2026/2027 Academic Session; Gombe State University (GSU) has commenced the sale of application forms for admission into its Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Part-Time Degree programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The admission exercise is open to prospective students seeking to earn a university degree through a flexible learning system. The programme is specifically designed for working professionals and other applicants who wish to continue their education while maintaining their weekday commitments.

Located at P.M.B. 127, Tudun Wada, Gombe, Gombe State University operates under the motto, “Primus Inter Pares.”

Eligibility Requirements

Prospective applicants can seek admission through either the 100 Level Entry route or the Direct Entry route, depending on their qualifications.

100 Level Entry Requirements

Candidates applying through the 100 Level Entry route must possess at least five O’Level credit passes in relevant subjects.

This admission pathway is intended for applicants who wish to begin their degree programme from the first year.

Direct Entry Requirements

Applicants seeking admission through Direct Entry must possess any of the following qualifications:

  • Ordinary National Diploma (OND)
  • Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE)
  • Any other recognised A-Level certificate

This option is designed for candidates who already hold recognised post-secondary qualifications that qualify them for Direct Entry admission.

How to Apply for GSU ODL Part-Time Degree Admission

Interested candidates are required to complete their applications online through the official GSU Open and Distance Learning Centre portal.

The application fee is ₦5,000 only and is non-refundable.

Applicants should complete and submit the online application form and carefully follow all instructions provided during the registration process.

Duration of the Programme

The duration of the programme depends on the applicant’s admission route.

  • Candidates admitted through the 100 Level Entry route will complete the programme in five years.
  • Candidates admitted through Direct Entry will complete the programme in four years.

This provides applicants with a clear timeline for completing their studies.

Lecture Schedule

Lectures for all GSU Open and Distance Learning Part-Time Degree programmes will be held strictly on Fridays and Saturdays.

This arrangement enables students to balance their studies with work and other weekday responsibilities.

Is JAMB or UTME Required?

No. Applicants are not required to present a JAMB score or sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to gain admission into the GSU Open and Distance Learning Part-Time Degree programmes.
