NDU Basic Studies Admission Form for 2026/2027 Academic Session; Niger Delta University (NDU), Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State, has commenced the sale of application forms for admission into its Basic Studies Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The programme is designed for secondary school leavers who want better preparation for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), as well as Senior Secondary School III students and other candidates preparing for WAEC and NECO examinations. It also provides a pathway for candidates seeking admission into degree programmes at the university.
About the NDU Basic Studies Programme
The NDU Basic Studies Programme is a one-year academic preparatory programme aimed at helping candidates improve their readiness for JAMB, WAEC, and NECO examinations.
The programme also prepares students for possible admission into undergraduate programmes at Niger Delta University, subject to their performance in the current JAMB examination and satisfaction of other admission requirements.
Who Can Apply?
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who possess the required O’level qualifications for their intended course of study.
Candidates awaiting the release of their latest WAEC or NECO results are also eligible to apply. In addition, candidates who have previously written these examinations and intend to sit for them again may be considered for admission.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Possess five relevant O’level credit passes for the intended course of study.
- The credits must include English Language and Mathematics.
- Results must be obtained in not more than two sittings in GCE or SSCE.
Candidates should note that admission into degree programmes at Niger Delta University will also depend on their performance in the current JAMB examination and other admission requirements.

How to Apply for NDU Basic Studies Admission
Prospective applicants should complete their application through the official NDU portal before proceeding to the School of Pre-Degree and Basic Studies for further processing.
Follow the steps below to apply:
- Visit the NDU application portal.
- Click on Basic Application.
- Select Start Application to create an account using your full name, gender, phone number, email address, contact address, and password.
- Purchase an EPin online using a valid debit or credit card.
- Complete the application form using the generated EPin, which will be sent to your registered email address and phone number.
- Submit the completed application for admission.
- Proceed to the School of Pre-Degree and Basic Studies, ICT Building, New Site, to obtain the admission application form at the Basic Studies Unit for further processing.
Programme Duration
The NDU Basic Studies Programme runs for one academic year.
Admission is currently open for the 2026/2027 academic session.
