
SUMAS Post UTME/ Direct Entry and Transfer Admission Form 2026/2027; The State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS), Igbo-Eno, Enugu State, has commenced the sale of application forms for its 2026/2027 undergraduate admission exercise.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates seeking admission through UTME, Direct Entry, and Inter-University Transfer into various degree programmes offered by the institution.
The screening exercise is open to candidates who selected SUMAS as their first-choice institution on JAMB CAPS and obtained a minimum score of 150 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Candidates who did not initially choose SUMAS as their first choice but wish to gain admission into the university are required to change their institution of first choice to SUMAS through JAMB CAPS before proceeding with the application.
Eligibility for SUMAS Post UTME Screening
Candidates are eligible to apply if they:
- Sat for the 2026 JAMB UTME and selected SUMAS as their first-choice institution.
- Obtained the 2026/2027 JAMB Direct Entry form and selected SUMAS.
- Are seeking admission through inter-university transfer.
- Have changed their first-choice institution to SUMAS on JAMB CAPS where applicable.
Direct Entry and transfer candidates must ensure they select the appropriate admission category during the application process.
SUMAS Post UTME Cut-Off Mark
The minimum UTME score required for participation in the 2026/2027 admission screening exercise is 150.
Candidates who scored below 150 are not eligible to apply, while those who scored 150 and above may proceed with the application provided they meet all other admission requirements.
General Admission Requirements
All applicants seeking admission into undergraduate programmes at SUMAS must satisfy the following conditions:
- Be at least 16 years old on or before 30 September 2026.
- Score a minimum of 150 in the 2026 UTME.
- Possess at least five credit passes in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or an equivalent examination.
- The required credits must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and two other subjects relevant to the intended programme.
- Upload O’Level results on JAMB CAPS.
- Pay the non-refundable Post UTME application fee of ₦2,000.
For Medicine and Surgery, all five required O’Level credits must be obtained in one sitting.
For all other programmes, the required credits may be obtained in not more than two sittings.
Direct Entry Admission Requirements
Direct Entry applicants must meet the academic requirements for their chosen programme and must also be cleared by the awarding institution through the JAMB e-Facility platform.
Medicine and Surgery Direct Entry Requirements
Candidates seeking Direct Entry admission into Medicine and Surgery must possess any of the following:
- A minimum of Second Class Upper Division (2:1) in a first degree obtained from a recognised institution, or
- Upper Credit in a related Higher National Diploma (HND) programme from a recognised institution.
The awarding institution must verify and clear the candidate on the JAMB e-Facility platform.
Direct Entry Requirements for Other Programmes
Candidates applying for Direct Entry admission into other degree programmes must possess:
- A minimum of Second Class Lower Division in a first degree, or
- Its equivalent in OND or HND from a recognised institution.
The awarding institution must also complete the required clearance on JAMB e-Facility.
Application Procedure
Candidates are required to complete their application through the SUMAS admission portal and pay the prescribed application fee.
To apply:
- Visit the SUMAS Post UTME application portal.
- Complete all required sections of the application form.
- Ensure that the payment narration contains the applicant’s JAMB Registration Number.
- Submit the completed application form.
- After selecting the “Apply” option, click the “See Instruction” button for additional application guidelines.
Candidates should note that only one application is permitted. Multiple applications from the same candidate may result in disqualification from the admission process.
Information That Must Correspond on JAMB CAPS and the SUMAS Portal
Applicants must ensure that all details entered on the SUMAS application portal correspond exactly with the information available on JAMB CAPS.
The information that must match includes:
- JAMB Registration Number
- Date of Birth
- State of Origin
- Programme of Choice
Only candidates whose selected programme on JAMB CAPS is the same as the programme chosen on the SUMAS portal will be considered for admission.
O’Level Upload Requirement
Uploading O’Level results on JAMB CAPS is compulsory for all applicants.
Candidates who fail to upload their O’Level results will not be considered for admission.
Accepted O’Level qualifications include:
- WAEC
- NECO
- NABTEB
- Other recognised equivalent qualifications
SUMAS Post UTME Application Fee
The application fee is Two Thousand Naira (₦2,000) only.
The fee is non-refundable.
Applicants must use their JAMB Registration Number as the payment narration to ensure proper identification and processing of their application.
Application Opening and Closing Dates
The online application portal opened on Monday, 22 June 2026.
The deadline for submission of applications is Friday, 31 July 2026.
