UNIJOS Secures NUC Approval for 18 New Academic Programmes

UNIJOS Secures NUC Approval for 18 New Academic Programmes; The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for the establishment of 18 new full-time undergraduate academic programmes at the University of Jos (UNIJOS), effective from the 2025/2026 academic session. This marks a significant expansion of the institution’s academic portfolio, aimed at meeting evolving educational needs and providing more opportunities for students.

The approval follows a comprehensive Resource Verification exercise conducted by the NUC, during which the Commission evaluated the human and material resources available at UNIJOS to run the programmes successfully. The exercise confirmed that the University is equipped to deliver quality education in these new fields.

The Vice-Chancellor of UNIJOS, Professor Tanko Ishaya, received the official approval letter from the NUC Executive Secretary. The letter, signed by the Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar M. Girei, confirmed that the new programmes will be offered on a full-time basis only.
