Wageningen University & Research Africa Scholarship Programme 2025; Wageningen University & Research invites applications for the 2025 Africa Scholarship Programme, a fully-funded initiative offering talented African students the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree at Wageningen University.
This programme aims to contribute to capacity building in Africa by fostering academic excellence.
Benefits of the Africa Scholarship Programme
Recipients of this scholarship will receive:
- Travel expenses to and from the Netherlands
- A monthly living allowance for the 24-month programme
- Full coverage of tuition fees for the master’s degree
- Visa fees and health insurance costs
- Funding for attending one seminar in Europe, including travel, accommodation, and registration fees
Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the programme, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of an African country
- Apply to a Wageningen University master’s programme by the application deadline
- Gain unconditional admission to the MSc programme
- Hold a First Class Honours degree with a GPA of 80% or higher
- Preferably not hold a previous master’s degree
Application Process

The scholarship is awarded by invitation only; direct applications are not accepted. Candidates should follow these steps:
- By 1 February 2025: Apply for an MSc programme at Wageningen University.
- By 13 March 2025: Approximately 40 selected candidates will be invited to participate in the selection process.
- By 25 March 2025: Complete the required assignment.
- By 8 April 2025: Approximately 20 candidates will be shortlisted for online interviews.
- 22 April – 1 May 2025: Participate in interviews via MS Teams.
- By 8 May 2025: Final results will be communicated to all applicants.
