LASU Releases 2024/2025 Pre-Degree Admission. The Lagos State University (LASU) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) Programme for the 2024/2025 academic session. The programme will commence in October 2024 and run for one academic session, from October 2024 to September 2025.

It is designed to prepare candidates with deficiencies in their O’Level results to re-sit for their examinations and to prepare them for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for admission into the 100 Level Degree programmes of LASU.

Benefits of Pre-Degree Studies (PDS)
- PDS students who pass their JAMB will secure admission on the PDS quota provided by LASU, increasing their chances of admission.
Admission Requirements:
(a) Candidates must have credits in at least three (3) subjects (i.e., any of Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Government, Economics, Literature in English, Christian Religious Studies (CRS), Islamic Religious Studies (IRS), and Accounting) in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, GCE, or NECO at not more than two (2) sittings.
(b) Candidates who meet the admission requirements will be invited for a written qualifying examination.

Criteria for Transitioning to 100 Level:
- Candidates must sit for the UTME and obtain the minimum JAMB Cut Off Mark for University Admission.
- Candidates must comply with the University Screening Test requirements.
- Candidates with deficiencies in their O’level results must register for WAEC and/or NECO and pass all relevant deficient subjects.
Successful candidates will be eligible for admission into the 100 Level courses of related faculties/schools/college: Engineering, Science, Management Sciences, Education, Social Sciences, Law, Agriculture, Transport, Mass Communication, Nursing, Dentistry, and College of Medicine, at the end of the programme.
Current Performance:
Despite the general low rate of performance in the 2024 UTME examination, the PDS recorded significant success. The performance of the current Pre-Degree candidates in the 2024 UTME shows that their exposure to rigorous teaching and CBT practice led to a tremendous success rate, with 79.7% scoring 200 and above.

A. Online Payment:
- Visit lasu.edu.ng and select the “MAKE PAYMENT” option in the drop-down list at the top to make the required payment of Fifteen Thousand Naira (N15,000:00) only for the 2024/2025 LASU Pre-Degree Studies.
- After payment, candidates should register online via the LASU PDS APPLICATION PORTAL: studentservices.lasu.edu.ng/pds_application.
Application Closing Date:
- The application closing date is ten (10) weeks from the date of this publication.
Qualifying Examination and Interview:
- The date for the Qualifying Examination and Interview for successful candidates will be announced later.
General Information:
- The programme is residential. Candidates offered admission into the programme will be accommodated at the Epe Campus of LASU.
