This transition will kick off with the WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2024 – First Series, scheduled for February 2024. While the Objective Tests will entirely shift to Computer-Based mode, the Essay and Test of Practical papers will adopt a hybrid approach. This method will involve presenting exam questions on screens while candidates write their answers on provided answer booklets.

In addition, the exam will take place in urban centers/cities, and provisions have been made for candidates with special needs. Registration for the examination begins on Monday, December 18, 2023. To aid candidates in acclimating to the new exam platform, a Mock Examination will be conducted in February 2024 before the official examination.

The Council urges all potential candidates to enhance their computer skills and adequately prepare for this transformation. As a leading examining body in Africa committed to delivering high-quality and dependable educational assessments, while promoting academic and moral excellence, the Council envisions a future where all its examinations will be computer-based.
