40 students from Auchi Poly were expelled for forging certificates: Management; According to the administration of Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State, 40 students were dismissed due to falsified test results and deficiencies at the institution’s entry point for several programs.

According to a news release issued by the institution’s Information and Public Relations Unit on Wednesday and signed by Adebola Ogunboyowa, the students were dismissed as a result of the results of the routine verification process for the 2020–2021 academic year.
The impacted students, Ms. Ogunboyowa, forged and fabricated their scores in order to be accepted into the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programs.
The Polytechnic’s expelled students were from a variety of departments.
Dr. Salisu Umar, the institution’s rector, has suggested 12 new programs to begin in the academic year 2022–2023, according to Ms. Ogunboyowa.
Printing technology, welding and fabrication technology, supply chain management, taxation, library and information science, leisure and tourism management technology, and social development are among the new programs.
Others include crop production technology, economics and development studies, microfinance and enterprise development, computer engineering technology, agricultural extension and management, and economics and development studies.
She claims that the plan is in keeping with the rector’s pledge to reposition the polytechnic and elevate it above the rest of the country.
“The National Board for Technical Education has received proposals for 12 new National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programs in support of the Rector’s goal (NBTE).
Ten of the suggested programs, according to Ogunboyowa, “are for the ND level, and two are at the HND level.”
She continued by saying that all of the polytechnic’s programs are scheduled for re-accreditation by the organization.
The spokesperson stated that no program will be denied accreditation because the management has upgraded the already-existing infrastructure and purchased the requisite tools.
The Rector, according to Ms. Ogunboyowa, advised all deans of schools and heads of departments slated for different phases of accreditation to give it their all in order to support the management’s efforts.
