MAU Yola Releases 2026/2027 Postgraduate Academic Calendar; Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, has approved the College of Postgraduate Studies academic calendar for the 2026/2027 session.
Registration will run from 2 November to 7 December 2026, while first-semester lectures will begin on 16 November 2026.
The calendar outlines registration periods, lecture dates, examinations, English Language Proficiency lectures and postgraduate admission activities. It also specifies separate penalties for late registration and late submission of registration forms.
First-Semester Registration, Lectures and Examinations
The university has scheduled the following activities for the first semester:
- 2 November–7 December 2026: Registration.
- 16 November 2026–8 March 2027: First-semester lectures.
- 30 December 2026: Late registration, with a penalty of ₦15,000.
- 30 December 2026: Late submission of registration forms, with a penalty of ₦5,000.
- 16 November 2026–7 May 2027: English Language Proficiency lectures.
- 15 March–8 April 2027: First-semester examinations.
Students should note that the university imposes separate penalties for late registration and late submission of registration forms.
Late registration attracts a ₦15,000 penalty. However, late submission of registration forms attracts a ₦5,000 penalty.
Postgraduate students should distinguish between these two activities and complete each requirement within the approved timeframe.
Second-Semester Academic Calendar
The university has also released the timetable for the second semester of the 2026/2027 session.
The scheduled activities are as follows:
- 8–30 April 2027: Semester break.
- 3 May 2027: Commencement of the second semester.
- 3 May–16 August 2027: Second-semester lectures.
- 17–30 August 2027: Revision.
- 31 August–15 September 2027: Second-semester examinations.
Meanwhile, the university has proposed 20 October 2027 as the commencement date for the 2027/2028 postgraduate academic session.
PhD and Other Postgraduate Admission Activities
MAU has outlined specific periods for postgraduate admission activities.
The university sells PhD admission forms throughout the year. However, the calendar provides the following dates for other admission processes:
- 5 January–31 March 2027: Sale of forms for PhD second-semester admission for the 2026/2027 session.
- 1 April–31 August 2027: Advertisement and general admissions for the 2027/2028 academic session.
