We live in a culture with a high tolerance for ambiguity. From our fear of calling things right and wrong, to our inability to see things as black-and-white, we’ve become a society that’s comfortable living in the gray.
While that may be good and acceptable in some aspects of life, this lack of certainty has seeped into the way we do relationships. And it’s causing some major damage.
Here are some distractions that FWB comes with
1. No matter how strong you are, FWB always ends with someone getting hurt, at least about 75% cases.
What if that person is you? How will you deal with it?
You pick up your books and all you see is him/her and for the ladies, a mixture of his face and your tears.
2. You sell your value short. Friends with benefits encourages you to give for free and creates an atmosphere that fuels selfishness, disrespect and zero responsibility.
Now how that’s for killing a healthy self esteem that probably took a lot of work to build?
3. Bad Reputation: indeed nothing can be hidden for so long.. In due time your friends will come to terms with what you are up to therefore, building in their hearts the kind of image that you may not be able to accept. This will indeed create social awkwardness.
Having a relationship while in school is beautiful but make sure it’s a relationship and not some fling that will drain you academically, socially and even personally.
Have a committed relationship and even if it doesn’t end well, you will definitely get up on your feet
Let’s get Friends with Academic Benefits instead if relationship isn’t in the plan.
But stay sane please
Stay Morally sound
Stay Happy
