Application Process

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  1. Abstract: A 50-80 word abstract of the proposed activity, clearly stating the purpose.
  2. Research Description: A detailed explanation (up to six double-spaced pages) outlining why the travel is necessary.
  3. Proposed Budget: A budget for the proposed travel.
  4. Curriculum Vitae: A CV detailing your research and teaching record.
  5. Passport Photocopy: A photocopy of your passport showing West African nationality.
  6. Recommendation Letter: A letter from a professor or professional colleague. Graduate students must include a letter from their research supervisor.
  7. Host Institution Invitation: If visiting another institution, include an invitation from the host.
  8. Consultation Details: If consulting archives, describe the collections you plan to consult and their relevance to your research.
