WAEC Rules You Must Follow

WAEC has strict exam rules. Violating them can cost you a subject — or your entire result. Read these carefully.

What Will Get You Disqualified

  • Bringing notes, phones, or papers into the hall
  • Copying or switching scripts
  • Starting early, ending late, or causing disruptions
  • Helping others cheat (even whispering)
  • Registering in more than one centre
  • Allowing someone else to write for you (impersonation)
  • Tearing answer booklets or ignoring instructions
  • Using pen where pencil is needed or vice versa
  • Sharing questions or answers online during exams
  • Mass cheating or organized malpractice
  • Threatening or fighting exam officials

Tip: If WAEC cancels a subject, it means only that subject is lost. If they cancel everything, your entire result is gone.
