WAEC GCE 2025 (2nd Series) Registration – Guidelines/ Fees & Deadline; The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the commencement of registration for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates – Second Series (GCE).
The registration fee is ₦27,000. Candidates are strongly advised to carefully follow all registration guidelines to avoid disqualification.
Registration Guidelines
- Registration is strictly online.
- After obtaining the Registration PIN, candidates should visit www.waeconline.org.ng to complete their registration.
- The process includes biometric verification, which will also be used for validation at the examination centres.
Registration Period
- Opening Date: Monday, June 9, 2025
- Closing Date for PIN Generation: Friday, August 22, 2025
- Deadline for Registration & Biometrics Capture: Sunday, August 24, 2025 (11:59pm)
Candidates are advised to conclude registration within two weeks of first accessing the website.

Candidates may also pay via online platforms such as Interswitch, Palmpay, Paycom, Paga, UBA, Fidelity Bank, Broadshift Technologies, Xpress Payment, SystemSpecs, Etranzact, Coralpay, and others.
Walk-In Candidates
Candidates who miss the official registration deadline may register as “Walk-in-Candidates” at least 24 hours before their scheduled paper.

Candidates with Special Needs
Special-needs candidates will register online like others but must clearly indicate their impairments (e.g., visual, low vision, speech, hearing, spastic conditions, etc.).

Completion of Registration
Candidates must:
- Confirm that names, gender, passport photos, date of birth, and subjects are correct.
- Print the Admission Notice, which serves as ID for the exam and contains the Result Checker PIN.
- Use only an approved UareU DigitalPersona fingerprint scanner for biometrics.
Exam Format
- Objective papers: Fully Computer-Based Test (CBT).
- Essay & Practical papers: Hybrid system – questions displayed on screen, answers written on paper.
- A Mock Exam will be held for interested candidates (date and details to be sent via SMS, email, and social media).
Important Information
- Registration fee is non-refundable.
- Candidates must upload good quality passport photographs (JPEG, 275×314 pixels, 72 dpi, plain contrasting background). Poor quality photos will invalidate registration.
- Exam malpractice attracts cancellation of results and possible prosecution.
- Candidates must:
- Wear mufti (no uniforms allowed)
- Avoid bringing phones or electronic gadgets to the hall
- Use valid email and phone numbers during registration
