About the WMI 2025 Scholarship

The WMI Scholarship provides financial aid to students from developing countries pursuing their first bachelor’s degree or diploma in fields that positively impact their communities.

  • Prioritizes studies conducted within the developing world.
  • Excludes students studying in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, or Western Europe.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Have completed secondary education with strong academic performance.
  2. Be 35 years old or younger by March 1, 2025.
  3. Pursue their first bachelor’s degree or diploma.
  4. Study in their home country or another developing country.
  5. Enroll in a program that benefits their community or promotes national development.
  6. Commit to living and working in their home country after graduation.
  7. Demonstrate a history of volunteering or community service.
  8. Have partial access to educational funding but require financial assistance to complete their studies.

Eligible Fields of Study

The scholarship is open to students in all fields of study.


Scholarship Benefits

  • Financial support of up to $3,000 per year (average award: $1,500).
  • Coverage includes tuition, books, materials, accommodation, meals, and transportation.
  • Scholarships are renewable for the duration of undergraduate studies, provided the student meets ongoing criteria.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following:

  1. 2025 Application Form (available from Dec 1, 2024).
  2. Personal Photo (clear and recent).
  3. Personal Essay Statement (as per application form instructions).
  4. Two Recommendation Letters.
  5. Official Transcripts:
    • Secondary school transcript and grading key.
    • Tertiary studies transcript and grading key (if applicable).
    • National exam results and grading key.
  6. Proof of Volunteering or community service experience.

This scholarship is open to students from developing countries.


Scholarship Duration

The duration of the scholarship aligns with the length of the undergraduate program, subject to the awardee maintaining eligibility.
