UNN Issues Mandatory Admission Guidelines for 2025/2026 Admitted Candidates

UNN Issues Mandatory Admission Guidelines for 2025/2026 Admitted Candidates; The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has released a comprehensive set of mandatory instructions for all candidates who have been provisionally recommended for admission into various academic programs for the 2025/2026 academic session.

These guidelines are essential for candidates to validate and secure their admission status, as failure to comply with any of the outlined steps may result in the withdrawal of the admission offer.

Important Notice

Candidates can check the Supplementary and Advertised Courses Admission Lists via the official University of Nigeria portal.

Instructions for Candidates Recommended for Provisional Admission

All provisionally admitted candidates are required to strictly adhere to the following directives:

  1. Upload of O’Level Results on JAMB CAPS
    • Candidates must immediately upload their O’Level results (WAEC/NECO) to the JAMB portal through a JAMB-approved CBT centre (if not already done).
    • Ensure the upload reflects correctly on JAMB CAPS, as admissions cannot be fully processed without it.
  2. Change of Course on JAMB CAPS (If Applicable)
    • Candidates offered admission into a course different from their original JAMB choice (Advert/Shopping/Supplementary) must urgently:
      • Visit an accredited JAMB CBT centre.
      • Complete a Change of Course to the newly offered program.
      • Print the updated JAMB Admission Status from CAPS.
      • Submit the printed status slip to the Admissions Office for verification and processing.
  3. Acceptance of Admission on JAMB CAPS
    • After completing the above, candidates must log in to JAMB CAPS and click “Accept Admission.”
    • Failure to accept the admission means no JAMB Admission Letter will be issued, and the candidate will be regarded as not admitted.
  4. Payment of Acceptance Fee
    • Visit the UNN portal (www.unnportal.edu.ng) or the University website (www.unn.edu.ng).
    • Log in with your JAMB Registration Number to generate a Payment Invoice containing a Remita number.
    • Pay the ₦30,000 acceptance fee at any commercial bank or the UNN Microfinance Bank.
    • Ensure the invoice number is entered correctly at the bank. Obtain a confirmation slip containing your confirmation and invoice numbers.
  5. Confirmation and Printing of Admission Slip
    • Return to the UNN portal and log in again with your JAMB Registration Number, Invoice Number, and Confirmation Number.
    • Print your Admission Slip and complete the Acceptance Form online.
  6. Proceed with Full Registration
    • After completing the acceptance process, proceed with all other fee payments and registration steps as detailed on the University website.

Important Reminder

All admissions are provisional.
If it is discovered at any time — including the final year — that a candidate does not meet the minimum university, faculty, or departmental entry requirements as prescribed by the Senate of the University and published in the JAMB Brochure, the admission offer will be withdrawn.
