UNIZIK Vice-Chancellor Warns Public Against Fake Facebook Account; The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyachie, has issued a public warning concerning a fraudulent Facebook account impersonating him.
In a press release dated 5th January 2026, the University’s Information and Public Relations Office revealed that a fake Facebook profile operating under the name “Bond Anyachie” has been created. The account reportedly uses the Vice-Chancellor’s photographs to deceive members of the public.
The University has categorically stated that the account is NOT AUTHENTIC and does not represent Professor Anyachie in any capacity. Members of the public have been strongly advised to disregard any messages, requests, or content originating from the impersonating account.
Official Facebook Profile of the Vice-Chancellor
The University clarified that the only official and verified Facebook profile belonging to Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyachie is the one authorized by the institution. Any other account bearing his name or images should be treated as fraudulent.
How to Report the Fake Facebook Account
To assist in taking down the impersonating account, the University has urged the public and online community to report the fake profile directly to Facebook by following these steps:
- Visit the fake Facebook profile.
- Click on the “Options” icon (three dots) located below the cover photo.
- Select “Report profile.”
- Choose “Something about this profile.”
- Select either “Scam, fraud or false information” or “Fake profile.”
- If “Fake profile” is selected, choose “Public figure” and enter the official profile link or the name “Bond Anyachie” when prompted.
- Submit the report.
University’s Appeal to the Public
The University expressed appreciation to members of the public for their cooperation and vigilance in helping to combat online impersonation and fraud. UNIZIK reiterated its commitment to maintaining a safe and credible digital environment for the university community and the general public.
