This program aims to support exceptionally talented and highly motivated individuals aspiring to pursue a Master of Science within the Faculty’s diverse disciplines.

About University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowships: The Faculty of Science at the University of Geneva is a globally renowned scientific institution encompassing a wide array of disciplines, including Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Physics.
Emphasizing research, it hosts three National Centres of Competence in Research endorsed by the Swiss National Science Foundation (Chemical Biology; SwissMAP; Planets) and actively participates in numerous European collaborative research projects. The Faculty’s Master’s programs serve as an optimal pathway for those aiming for distinguished professional and academic careers.

Eligibility:
- Open to students from any university with outstanding academic performance (top 10% of their bachelor’s program).
- Applicants must have completed their Bachelor’s degree or expect to complete it within the next 6 months.
- Selection is based on excellence, evaluated through submitted documentation.
- Proficiency in French is not a formal requirement for the Faculty of Science Master’s programs.

Value of University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowship: CHF 10,000 to CHF 15,000 per year (no teaching duties)
Duration: One year, with the possibility of extension for the regular duration of the selected Master’s program (three or four semesters), contingent upon academic success after the first semester.
How to Apply:
Interested candidates should submit a comprehensive application in English or French, including the following documents compiled into a single PDF file:
- Scan of national identity card or passport.
- Scan of UNIGE card or, for non-UNIGE students, proof of matriculation process initiation.
- Curriculum Vitae (2 pages maximum).
- Transcript of exams taken during the bachelor’s education, inclusive of all grades.
- Motivation letter detailing specific scientific interests and the motivation to pursue a Master of Science at the University of Geneva.
- If possible, letters of references from two professors (preferably sent directly to Excellence-Master-Sciences@unige.ch) affirming aptitude for the program.
- Any additional relevant information, such as GRE, TOEFL, or other language test results.
