
UNIUYO Postgraduate Admission Form 2026/2027; The Postgraduate School of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has commenced the sale of application forms for admission into its postgraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates seeking admission into Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master’s, Integrated MPhil/PhD, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes. Prospective applicants are advised to review the programme duration, admission requirements, document submission guidelines, and application procedures before making payment.
Available UNIUYO Postgraduate Programmes

Duration of UNIUYO Postgraduate Programmes
All programmes offered through the Postgraduate School are full-time programmes.
The approved duration for each programme is as follows:
Master’s Degree Programmes
- Minimum duration: Four semesters
- Maximum duration: Six semesters
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programmes
- Minimum duration: Six semesters
- Maximum duration: Ten semesters
Integrated MPhil/PhD Programmes
- Minimum duration: Two semesters before progression to the PhD stage
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programmes
- Minimum duration: Two semesters
- Maximum duration: Four semesters
PGD in Engineering
- Minimum duration: Four semesters
- Maximum duration: Six semesters
Part-time postgraduate programmes are administered through the School of Continuing Education and Professional Studies.
Admission Requirements for Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programmes
Applicants seeking admission into a Postgraduate Diploma programme must be:
- Graduates of the University of Uyo or any other university recognized by the Senate of the University of Uyo.
- Holders of qualifications considered equivalent to a first degree by the Senate.
- Holders of a recognized Higher National Diploma (HND).
Admission Requirements for Master’s Degree Programmes
Candidates applying for a Master’s degree programme must:
- Be graduates of the University of Uyo or any other university recognized by the Senate of the University of Uyo.
- Possess at least a Second-Class Honours degree, regardless of CGPA.
Admission Requirements for M.Sc Medical Microbiology
Applicants seeking admission into the M.Sc Medical Microbiology programme must possess qualifications in any of the following areas:
- Microbiology
- Virology with a Postgraduate Diploma in Microbiology
- MBBCh, MBBS, or an equivalent medical qualification
Admission Requirements for Master’s in Public Health
Candidates applying for the Master’s degree programme in Public Health must:
- Possess an MBBS degree.
- Have a valid Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) registration number.
Admission Requirements for PhD Programmes
Applicants seeking admission into a PhD programme must:
- Be graduates of the University of Uyo or any other university recognized by the Senate.
- Possess a Master’s degree with dissertation.
- Have a minimum cumulative grade equivalent to 60 percent or Grade B.
Admission Requirements for the Integrated MPhil/PhD Programme
Candidates applying for the Integrated MPhil/PhD programme must:
- Have obtained a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from the University of Uyo or another Senate-recognized university.
- Possess a Master’s degree average score of not less than 55 percent and less than 60 percent.
General O’Level Requirements
All applicants must possess credit passes in five relevant O’Level subjects, including English Language.
The credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings.
Candidates whose O’Level results were obtained before 2017 must present their original certificates. Statements of result or result slips for such examinations will not be accepted.
Faculty-Specific O’Level Requirements
Faculty of Law
Applicants for:
- PGD in Law
- Master of Laws (LLM)
- PhD in Law
must possess a credit pass in English Literature as one of their required O’Level subjects.
Faculty of Agriculture
Applicants must possess a credit pass in Chemistry as one of the required O’Level subjects.
Screening Exercise
Applicants may be required to participate in a screening exercise.
The screening may include:
- Assessment in the candidate’s area of specialization
- Oral interaction with the department
NYSC Certificate Requirement
All applicants must provide one of the following:
- NYSC Completion Certificate
- NYSC Exemption Certificate
- NYSC Exclusion Certificate
The relevant certificate must be submitted with the application or presented before the screening exercise.
Requirements for Candidates Admitted Through Remedial Programmes
Applicants who gained admission into their first degree through remedial programmes must provide evidence that they corrected the relevant subject deficiencies through external examinations.

UNIUYO Postgraduate Application Fee
The application fee for the 2026/2027 postgraduate admission exercise is Twenty Thousand Naira (₦20,000).
The fee is non-refundable.

How to Apply for UNIUYO Postgraduate Admission
Applicants should complete their application by generating a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR), making payment, and completing the online registration process.
Application Procedure
- Visit the UNIUYO ePortals payment portal.
- Generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR).
- Make payment through any commercial bank in Nigeria.
- Return to the portal after payment.
- Click the Login Form link and enter the generated RRR.
- Print the payment receipt.
- Click the Registration link to obtain login credentials.
- Log in and complete the online registration.
- Print the completed 2026/2027 application form.
- Upload all required credentials, transcripts, and research proposals in PDF format.
The University has stated that hard-copy submission of documents will not be accepted.
