UNIUYO Announces Convocation Gown Hire and Purchase Charges for 2026; The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has approved gown hire and purchase charges for graduands attending its 31st and 32nd Combined Convocation Ceremony.
The ceremony is scheduled to hold from 9 to 14 November 2026.
The university’s Directorate of Information and Public Relations announced the charges in a statement dated 26 October 2026. The amounts vary according to the qualification being awarded and whether graduands choose to hire or purchase their gowns.
Approved UNIUYO Convocation Gown Charges
UNIUYO has approved the following charges for graduands:
- First Degree, Diploma and Certificate: ₦35,000 to hire a graduation gown.
- Postgraduate Diploma: ₦55,000 to hire a graduation gown.
- Master’s Degree: ₦65,000 to hire a gown or ₦150,000 to purchase one.
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD): ₦200,000 to purchase a graduation gown.
Master’s degree graduands can either hire or purchase their gowns at the approved rates. However, the stated PhD charge applies to gown purchase.
Graduands should confirm the applicable charge for their qualifications before making payment arrangements for the ceremony.
UNIUYO Combined Convocation Ceremony Arrangements
The university will hold its 31st and 32nd Combined Convocation Ceremony from 9 to 14 November 2026.
