United Nations FAO Hungary Government Fully Funded Scholarships 2025. The FAO–Hungarian Government Scholarship Programme for 2025–2026 is now accepting applications from talented individuals worldwide who are interested in pursuing a Master of Science degree in Hungary.
This prestigious program, organized by the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia in collaboration with the Hungarian Government, offers full scholarships for international students passionate about agricultural sciences.
Available Degree Programs
For the academic year 2025–2026, the following English-taught Master’s programs are available:
- Master in Aquaculture
Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Szent István Campus, Gödöllő. - Master in Animal Husbandry Engineering
University of Debrecen, Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and Environmental Management, Debrecen.
FAO 2025 Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support, including:
- Full coverage of tuition and application fees, along with basic books and study materials.
- Dormitory accommodation at the host universities.
- A monthly subsistence allowance to cover living expenses.
- Health insurance throughout the duration of the scholarship.
Note: The scholarship only covers the individual student’s costs, and family members are not included in the program.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a citizen and resident of one of the eligible countries.
- Have outstanding academic records.
- Be proficient in English, as courses are taught in English.
- Demonstrate motivation for pursuing the selected program.
- Be in good health.
- Preference will be given to candidates under 30 years of age.
Eligible Countries Applicants from over 40 countries, including Afghanistan, Algeria, Ethiopia, Jordan, Nigeria, Ukraine, and Vietnam, can apply.

Selection Process The selection process occurs in two phases:
- Phase 1: Pre-screening by FAO and submission of applications to the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture. Only complete applications will be processed.
- Phase 2: The universities will conduct further selection, which may include written or oral English tests. Final admission decisions will be made by the participating universities.
Application Deadline Applications for the FAO–Hungarian Government Scholarship Programme 2025–2026 must be submitted via email between 20 January 2025 and 28 February 2025.
