UNIPORT Institute of International Trade and Development (IITD) Graduate Admission for 2025/2026; The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), through its Institute of International Trade and Development (IITD), invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its various Postgraduate Programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in International Trade and Development
- Master of Science (M.Sc) in International Trade and Development
- Master of Science (M.Sc) in Customs Administration/Border Management
- Master of Science (M.Sc) in Ports Management and Maritime Administration
- Master of Science (M.Sc) in Shipping and Maritime Security
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Trade and Development Finance
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
1. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in International Trade and Development
- Candidates must hold a good honours degree (not lower than Third Class) in Economics, Political Science, Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, History, Geography, Law, or related fields from a recognized university.
- Alternatively, holders of a Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least Upper Credit in relevant disciplines are also eligible.
2. Master of Science (M.Sc) in International Trade and Development
- Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with at least Second Class Honours (Lower Division) in Economics, Political Science, Finance, Foreign Languages, Accounting, History, Marketing, Management, Geography, Law, or related fields from recognized institutions.
- Candidates with degrees outside the listed disciplines but with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in trade-related industries may also be considered.
- A minimum CGPA of 2.50 on a 5.00-point scale from UNIPORT or other recognized universities is required.
3. M.Sc in Customs Administration/Border Management, Ports Management and Maritime Administration, and Shipping and Maritime Security
- A good bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Management Sciences, or selected fields in the Arts/Humanities (such as History, International Relations, or Law) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 (Second Class Lower) is required.
- Candidates with a degree in Education or Business and at least 7 years of relevant professional experience in Customs, Immigration, Navy, NPA, or related sectors are also eligible.
- Applicants with Third Class degrees must hold a relevant Postgraduate Diploma.
- HND holders with Upper Credit and a PGD in related disciplines may also apply.
4. Ph.D in Trade and Development Finance
- Candidates must have obtained an M.Sc Degree in International Trade and Development from the Institute with a minimum CGPA of 3.50.
- Applicants with M.Sc Degrees in Economics, Marketing, Management, Accounting, International Finance, International Relations, or Mathematics (with at least a CGPA of 3.50) will also be considered.
PROGRAMME DURATION
- PGD and M.Sc Programmes: Minimum of 12 calendar months.
- Ph.D Programme: Minimum of 24 calendar months and a maximum of 60 calendar months.

Application forms can be obtained online via the UNIPORT official website (www.uniport.edu.ng) or directly from the Institute’s Office, located at Delta Park, University of Port Harcourt, upon presentation of proof of payment of a non-refundable application fee of ₦40,000 (Forty Thousand Naira only).
