UNIMED gets MDCN full accreditation; Following a visit to the university by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) in 2022, the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, has acquired full accreditation for the graduation of professional medical doctors.
Temitope Oluwatayo, the university’s Public Relations Officer, who made the disclosure, stated that the council’s provisional clearance was transmitted in a letter signed by the Registrar, MDCN, Dr. Tajudeen Sanusi, and written to the vice chancellor, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi.
He said that the accreditation, as accepted by the Council, is renewable every five years and is conditional on continuous satisfactory evidence of the MBBS program’s progressive advancement. With this, final-year MBBS students at the institution can now take their final professional examination and be admitted to the medical council.
