UNIMED 2026/2027 Post UTME and Direct Entry Screening for Undergraduate Admission; University of Medical Sciences has announced the commencement of its Post UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The university invited qualified candidates to apply for admission into its undergraduate programmes across various faculties and departments. UNIMED also described itself as the first specialised medical and health sciences university in West Africa.

UNIMED Ranking and Academic Profile

UNIMED included details of its 2025 NUC ranking in the admission announcement.

According to the university, the ranking placed UNIMED:

  • First among Ondo State-owned universities
  • Second among all public and private universities in Ondo State
  • Fourth among all state-owned universities in Nigeria
  • Nineteenth among universities in Nigeria

The university also stated that it has maintained a stable and uninterrupted academic calendar over the years.

Eligibility Requirements for UNIMED Post UTME

Candidates who selected Ondo State University of Medical Sciences as their most preferred first-choice institution in the 2026 UTME and scored at least 150 are eligible to apply for the Post UTME screening exercise.

Candidates who did not initially choose UNIMED can also apply, provided they are willing to change their institution to UNIMED as their most preferred first choice before the screening process.

JAMB Subject Combination

All courses offered by UNIMED for the 2026/2027 academic session require the same UTME subject combination.

Candidates must have the following subjects in UTME:

  • English Language
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics

O’Level Requirements for UTME and Direct Entry Candidates

Candidates applying for both 100 level and 200 level admission must possess at least five credit passes in WAEC, NECO, or GCE examinations.

The required subjects are:

  • Mathematics
  • English Language
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics

The credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings, depending on departmental requirements.

However, candidates applying for the following programmes must obtain all five credits in one sitting:

  • Medicine and Surgery
  • Dentistry
  • Doctor of Physiotherapy

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

Direct Entry candidates who selected UNIMED as their most preferred first-choice institution through JAMB are eligible to apply for the screening exercise.

Candidates willing to change their institution to UNIMED can also apply.

Accepted Direct Entry qualifications include:

  • Cambridge A’Level
  • JUPEB
  • IJMB

Applicants using these qualifications must have at least 10 points.

Candidates with ND, HND, or university degrees may also apply for Direct Entry admission into 200 level.

Degree holders must possess at least a Second Class Lower Division (2:2) and all applicants must satisfy the O’Level requirements for their chosen course.

Transcript Requirement for Direct Entry Candidates

Direct Entry applicants are required to request official academic transcripts from their previous institutions.

The transcripts must be sent directly to:

UNIMED stated that Direct Entry candidates who fail to submit official academic transcripts before the screening date will not be considered for admission.

How to Apply for UNIMED Post UTME Screening

Eligible candidates should complete their application through the official UNIMED website.

The university warned candidates not to make payments into unauthorised accounts.

To apply, candidates should follow these steps:

  1. Visit the UNIMED website.
  2. Click on “Admission.”
  3. Select “Post-UTME” to access the screening portal.
  4. Open the UNIMED Post UTME payment portal.
  5. Make payment online using a VISA or MasterCard.
  6. Print the payment receipt after payment.
  7. Return to the Post UTME portal.
  8. Open the application portal.
  9. Log in with the 2026 JAMB registration number and Payment Transaction ID as password.
  10. Complete the Post UTME registration form.

The university stated that Verve cards are not accepted for payment.

UNIMED Post UTME Screening Date and Format

The 2026 Post UTME screening exercise will take place from Monday, 3 August to Friday, 7 August 2026.

According to the university, the screening will be conducted both virtually and physically.

Venue details and other screening information will be sent to registered candidates through their individual portals before the screening dates.

Age Requirement and Screening Materials

Only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by 30 September 2026 are eligible to apply.

Applicants who are already matriculated students in any university, including UNIMED, and have not yet graduated are required to declare this during registration.

Candidates must come to the screening venue with the following:

  • Printed copy of the 2026 UTME Notification of Results Slip
  • 2026 Direct Entry Registration Slip for Direct Entry applicants
  • Printed copy of the completed 2026 Post UTME Screening Slip

UNIMED stated that any candidate who fails to appear for the screening exercise will not be considered for admission.
