UNIMAID Post UTME and Direct Entry Screening Form 2026/2027; The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has announced the commencement of its Post-Admission Screening Exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session. The screening is open to eligible UTME and Direct Entry candidates seeking admission into the university’s undergraduate programmes.

The screening registration will begin on Monday, 14 June 2026 and close on Monday, 14 August 2026.

Who Is Eligible for UNIMAID Post UTME and Direct Entry Screening?

The screening exercise is open only to candidates who selected the University of Maiduguri as their first-choice institution during the 2026/2027 JAMB admission process.

Candidates who did not choose UNIMAID as their first choice will not be considered for the screening exercise.

UNIMAID Cut-Off Mark for 2026/2027 Admission

Candidates applying through UTME must score a minimum of 150 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

However, some courses require higher cut-off marks. Applicants are advised to check the specific cut-off mark for their preferred course before completing the screening registration.

Course Requirements for Applicants

Candidates must meet the minimum UTME score required for their chosen course.

Applicants are also expected to have the correct UTME subject combination as specified in the 2026 JAMB Brochure.

Candidates who do not meet the requirements for their chosen course may be allowed to switch to another course for which they satisfy the admission requirements.

O’Level Requirements

All candidates must possess at least five O’Level credit passes in subjects relevant to their intended course of study.

The credits must include:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics

The required credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings.

Direct Entry Requirements

Direct Entry candidates must satisfy the O’Level requirements stated above and possess one of the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of Lower Credit in a National Diploma (ND)
  • A minimum of Lower Credit in a Higher National Diploma (HND)
  • At least a Merit grade in the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE)

Accepted O’Level Results for Verification

During the verification process, only the following O’Level result documents will be accepted:

  • Result printouts downloaded directly from the websites of the relevant examination bodies
  • Photocopies of original certificates issued by WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB

Candidates should ensure that their documents meet these requirements before attending verification.

Upload of O’Level Results on JAMB CAPS

All candidates are required to upload their O’Level results to their JAMB CAPS profile.

The upload must be completed before verification, as the screening exercise will rely on the candidate’s admission records available on JAMB CAPS.

Failure to upload O’Level results may affect the admission process.

UNIMAID Screening Fee

Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable screening fee of N2,000.

Payment must be made through the Remita platform.

How to Apply for UNIMAID Post UTME Screening 2026/2027

Candidates should begin the application process through the University of Maiduguri website and proceed to the Post UTME portal.

The Post UTME portal redirects applicants to the UMSTAD login page, where registration can be completed.

Application Procedure

  1. Visit the University website and click on the Post UTME portal.
  2. Log in using your JAMB Registration Number as your username.
  3. Use umstad@2026 as the default password.
  4. Upload a passport photograph not exceeding 200KB.
  5. Create a new password.
  6. Provide a valid phone number and email address.
  7. Generate a Remita payment invoice for the N2,000 screening fee.
  8. Complete the biodata section and enter your A-Level or O-Level results where applicable.
  9. Upload all required documents.
  10. Submit the application form.
  11. Download and print the completed application form for reference.

Applicants are advised to carefully review all information before final submission.

Important Checks Before Submitting the Application

Before completing the registration process, candidates should confirm the following:

  • UNIMAID was selected as first-choice institution in JAMB.
  • UTME score meets the requirement for the chosen course.
  • UTME subject combination complies with the 2026 JAMB Brochure.
  • At least five relevant O’Level credits are available.
  • Mathematics and English Language are included among the credits.
  • O’Level results have been uploaded to JAMB CAPS.
  • The screening fee has been paid only through Remita.

Candidates whose UTME scores do not meet the requirements of their chosen courses should consider changing to another course for which they qualify.

Closing Date for UNIMAID Screening Registration

The University of Maiduguri Post-Admission Screening Exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session will close on Monday, 14 August 2026.

The university has stated that there will be no extension of the registration deadline, and candidates are strongly advised to complete their registration within the stipulated period.
