UNIMAID Appoints Two New Deputy Vice-Chancellors; The Governing Council of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has approved the appointment of two new Deputy Vice-Chancellors.
Details of the Appointments
- Professor Babagana Bako of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology has been appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Central Administration).
- Professor Mohammed Ahmed Waziri of the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Theriogenology has been appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Services).
Their appointments, which were made on the recommendation of the Vice-Chancellor and with the approval of the University Senate, were officially conveyed in a letter signed by the Registrar, Ahmed Alhaji Lawan.
Tenure and Legal Basis
The appointments are in accordance with Section 4(1)-4(5) of the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) Decree No. 11 of 1993. Each Deputy Vice-Chancellor will serve a tenure of two years.
Effective Date
The new appointments take effect from 18th September, 2025.
