Who Can Apply?
Anyone with a valid undergraduate degree from a recognized university is eligible to apply. Whether you’re fresh out of school or looking to boost your professional profile, UNILAG offers a variety of postgraduate options to suit your goals.
Types of Postgraduate Programmes Available
UNILAG offers four distinct categories of postgraduate programmes:
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
- Academic Master’s Degrees – e.g., LL.M, M.A., M.Ed., M.Sc.
- Professional Master’s Degrees – e.g., EMBA, MBA, MPH, MPA, MEM, and others
- Research-Based Degrees – Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
You can pursue your studies through various flexible formats, including full-time, part-time, executive, and open distance learning.

- Application Opens: Monday, 3 March 2025
- Application Closes: Friday, 1 August 2025
- Form Submission Deadline: Friday, 8 August 2025
Step-by-Step Application Guide
Applying is simple if you follow these steps:
- Visit the UNILAG postgraduate portal.
- Click the “APPLY” button.
- Review the programme requirements under “View Programmes’ Entry Requirement”.
- Click “Start a Fresh Application”.
- Choose “Postgraduate” as your application type.
- Fill in the pre-application form and print out your payment slip.
- Pay the application fee of ₦40,000 via:
- A bank using the Remita RRR code, or
- Online, using the PayNow link and your debit card.
- Return to the portal and click on “Continue Application”.
- Log in using your payment reference number and your surname in lowercase as your password.
- Complete the form and upload a passport photograph (JPEG format, white background, 275×314 pixels, max 15KB).
- When your form is complete and accurate, click “SUBMIT FORM.”
Note: Do not submit your form until you’re certain it’s complete. Post-submission edits will incur extra charges.
Important Guidelines to Keep in Mind
PRACTICE PAST QUESTIONS HERE (JAMB, WAEC, NECO, POST-UTME)
Before applying, you must read the rules and requirements for your intended course of study.
You are not eligible to apply if:
- You are awaiting your first degree results.
- You are currently enrolled in a postgraduate programme.
- You have not completed your NYSC.
- Your degree is from an outreach or satellite campus.
Required Documents
Applicants must upload the following:
- Degree certificates (statements are not accepted)
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
- Professional certificates (if applicable)
