UNILAG Opens Hostel Application Portal for 2025/2026 Academic Session

UNILAG Opens Hostel Application Portal for 2025/2026 Academic Session; The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced the opening of its online application portal for hostel accommodation for the 2025/2026 academic session. The application window is currently open and will close at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025.

Following the application period, the balloting exercise for hostel allocation will take place on Friday, November 21, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

Only 200 to 500 level students who meet the following conditions are eligible to apply:

  • Completion of course registration for the 1st semester of the 2025/2026 academic session
  • Must be within the regular duration of their respective academic programmes

Students may apply for accommodation immediately after completing their course registration.

Application Process

Eligible students are required to submit their hostel accommodation applications through their student portals during the designated period:

  • Application Window: Monday, November 17 – Thursday, November 20, 2025

Allocation Method

Once the application window closes, available bed spaces will be allocated randomly through a balloting system among all eligible applicants.

Important Dates

  • Application Start Date: Monday, November 17, 2025
  • Application End Date: Thursday, November 20, 2025 (11:59 p.m.)
  • Balloting Date: Friday, November 21, 2025
  • Payment Deadline: Friday, November 28, 2025
  • Movement into Halls of Residence: Saturday, November 22, 2025

Students are advised to adhere strictly to the guidelines and timelines.


Important Notice

Students residing in the following hostels are not eligible to participate in the balloting exercise:

  • El-Kannemi Hall 2
  • Gbajabiamila Hall
  • Women Society Hostel
  • Other similar hostels within this category on campus

The Student Affairs Division maintains the official list of residents in these hostels. Any student found violating this directive will face the Students’ Disciplinary Board for social misconduct.
