UNILAG Distance Learning Institute Admission Form for 2025/2026 Session. The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially opened applications for admission into its Distance Learning Institute (DLI) for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The DLI programmes are delivered through an open and distance learning structure, specifically designed for individuals who require flexible study options while earning a fully recognised University of Lagos degree.

General Admission Requirements
- Applicants must possess a minimum of five O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained from SSCE, GCE, or NECO, in not more than two sittings.
- Candidates seeking Year Two (Direct Entry) admission must have one of the following in relevant disciplines:
- NCE
- ND with at least Lower Credit
- JUPEB
- IJMB
- GCE A’ Level
- Candidates applying for Year Three admission must hold:
- an HND with at least Lower Credit, or
- a Bachelor’s degree with at least Third Class,
- along with evidence of NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion.
- Applicants with recognised professional qualifications such as ICAN, ACA, ACCA, ANAN, ACIB, CIBN, CII, ACMA, ACIS, or ANACIA are also eligible to apply for Year Three entry.
- Candidates awaiting results are not eligible to apply.
- Applicants must be at least 16 years old by 31 October 2025.
- Admission is open to all qualified candidates, including applicants with learning challenges.
- Basic computer literacy is required, as the programmes are delivered through an ICT-supported blended learning format.
- UTME is not required for admission into the UNILAG Distance Learning Institute.
Application Procedure
The application process consists of two stages: JAMB registration and the UNILAG DLI application.
Stage One: JAMB Registration
- Visit the JAMB CAPS platform and complete the registration process.
- Pay a fee of ₦3,500 to obtain a JAMB registration number.
Stage Two: UNILAG DLI Application
- Visit the UNILAG Distance Learning application portal at applications.unilag.edu.ng/home.
- Click on Start Fresh Application.
- Select Distance Learning Institute as the application type and provide the required personal details, including JAMB registration number, phone number, and email address.
- Click Pay Now to make an online payment of ₦20,000, or generate and print a Remita slip for payment at any commercial bank.
- After payment, return to the portal and select Continue Application.
- Log in using the payment reference number and your surname (entered in lowercase) as the password.
- Complete all sections of the application form and upload the required documents.
- Submit the application online and print a copy for record purposes. Saved applications may be edited before final submission.
All applications must be completed and submitted on or before 31 December 2025.
