UNILAG 2025/2026 Screening and Registration Guidelines for Newly Admitted Students; The University of Lagos (UNILAG) warmly congratulates all newly admitted candidates for the 2025/2026 academic session. UNILAG, recognized as the “University of First Choice,” wishes you success in your academic pursuits. It is important to note that the screening and registration exercise for 2025/2026 will be faculty-based.
All newly admitted UTME and Direct Entry candidates are required to report to their respective faculties for registration from Monday, November 17 to Friday, November 28, 2025, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The process is structured in six stages as detailed below.
Stage 1: Toxicology Screening
- Mandatory for all admitted candidates.
- Payment for the toxicology test must be made before taking the test.
- The screening must be conducted at the designated venue.
- Candidates who pass the test must bring a copy of the toxicology result for registration.
Stage 2: Registration Appointment
- After completing the toxicology test, candidates must book a registration appointment online starting from Friday, November 14, 2025.
- Access the UNILAG Student Portal: http://studentportal.unilag.edu.ng/
- Login Details:
- Username: JAMB Number / Application Number
- Password: Surname in lowercase
- Change the default password after first login.
- Steps to book an appointment:
- Click Appointment on the menu bar.
- Click New Appointment.
- Select your Faculty and Session.
- Click Schedule Appointment.
- Print the Appointment/Booking Slip and present it at the registration venue.
Note: It is compulsory to present the Appointment/Booking Slip at the screening/registration venue.

Stage 3: Uploading of Documents
- Log in to UNILAG Student Portal
- Complete the Bio-data Form and print the Screening Form.
- Upload the following original documents:
- JAMB Admission Letter
- O’Level Result Certificate (WAEC/NECO) or online version
- Secondary School Testimonial
- Previous Degree Certificate (Direct Entry only)
- Birth Certificate
- Letter of Reference from a reputable Clergyman, Imam, Lawyer, or Senior Civil Servant
- State of Origin Certificate
Stage 4: Screening at Faculty
- Report to the faculty registration venue on your scheduled date.
- Submit two copies of all required documents including:
- Toxicology result
- Screening Form
- UNILAG Online Application Form (Direct Entry only)
- JAMB Acknowledgement Slip (Direct Entry only)
- JAMB Admission Letter
- UTME Result Slip
- POST-UTME Result Slip
- JUPEB/A-LEVEL/OND/HND/BSc Result Slip (Direct Entry only)
- O’Level Result Certificate
- Letter of Reference
- Birth Certificate / Sworn Declaration of Age
- Secondary School Testimonial
- State of Origin Certificate (must match JAMB registration state)
- 12 Passport Photographs (with full names on the reverse)
Original copies must be presented for verification.
Stage 5: Payment of Fees
- Generate the Payment Advice after registration and issuance of the clearance certificate.
- Make payments at any commercial bank or via the online platform.
Stage 6: Faculty/Departmental Registration
- Complete the remaining registration procedures and documentation with Faculty/Department officials after payment.
Important Notices
- Venue: All registration activities will hold at the respective faculties on the main campus.
- Impersonation: Any candidate found guilty will forfeit admission and may be reported to the police.
- Drug Use: UNILAG maintains zero tolerance. Candidates testing positive or failing the compulsory drug test will have their admission withdrawn.
- Matriculation and Orientation dates will be announced by the University.
