Admission into School of Foundation Studies (Formerly Foundation Programmes) for the 2024/2025 Session
Applications are now open for qualified candidates to join the School of Foundation Studies at the University of Lagos for the 2024/2025 Academic Session. Successful candidates, upon completion of an approved examination by the Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB), will be eligible for Direct Entry admission into the 200 Level of Degree Programmes at the University through JAMB (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board), or admission into partner universities listed above. It’s important to note that the programme currently does not accommodate visually impaired individuals and is strictly non-residential.

Admission Requirements:
Candidates must have a minimum of FIVE credits (including English Language, Mathematics, and three relevant subjects) obtained at one sitting in SSCE/WASSC, GCE/O/L, NECO, with results obtained before registration.
Application Procedure:
- Visit the School of Foundation website at foundation.unilag.edu.ng and familiarize yourself with the sales of application forms.
- Visit the School of Foundation Studies application site on applications.unilag.edu.ng.
- Navigate to the prospective student’s menu and click on the School of Foundation Studies.
- Complete the Pre-Application Form to obtain a payment reference number (PRN) using the correct applicant’s names as stated in the birth certificate and other relevant documents.
- Make payment at any Commercial bank in Nigeria with the payment reference number (PRN).
- The cost of the Application Form (excluding bank charges) is N35,000.00 (non-refundable).
- Return to the applications site on applications.unilag.edu.ng.
- Log in with PRN as the username and the applicant’s surname in lowercase as the password.
- Complete the application form and print two copies for yourself.
- Examination pass will be available online a week before the examination date. Print a copy for yourself.
Important Dates:
- Application opens: Monday, May 13, 2024
- Application closes: Friday, August 9, 2024
- Entrance examination: Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Distance Learning Institute (DLI) in the University of Lagos.
Mode of Examination:
- Computer-Based Tests.
- All Questions are Multiple Choice.
- Examination subjects include Mathematics, English Language (20 questions each), and 3 other relevant subjects according to the candidate’s choice of subject combination (15 questions each), making a total of 85 questions to be answered in forty-five (45) minutes. Candidates with Mathematics as one of the three subject combinations would need to choose Further Mathematics as a subject in the entrance examination combination.
Results:
Results and merit admission will be released on www.unilag.edu.ng.
Terms and Conditions:
- Admission into undergraduate programmes is based on approved capacity for each programme.
- The University may conduct or adopt other measures of testing in cases where there are more successful candidates than the approved capacity for some courses.
- University of Lagos has zero tolerance for various forms of misconduct and anti-social behavior.
