According to the university, online registration begins on Thursday, 21 May 2026, for qualified candidates seeking undergraduate admission into the institution.

Candidates can apply for the screening exercise if they:
- Chose UNICROSS as first-choice institution during the 2026 UTME
- Scored at least 150 in the 2026 UTME
Candidates who did not initially choose the university as first choice can still apply after completing a change of institution to UNICROSS through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board portal.

- Enter your JAMB registration number under the “New Candidate” section
- Click “Proceed to Purchase E-Pin”

- Click “Pay Now” on the payment page
- Make payment using card, bank transfer or USSD
- Copy and save the generated E-PIN after payment
- Return to the portal and click “Already Have an E-PIN?” to continue
- Upload all required documents and complete the application form
- Review all entries carefully and submit the application
- Print the acknowledgement slip after successful submission

The university stated that only candidates who:
- Scored 150 and above in UTME
- Chose UNICROSS as first-choice institution
will be eligible for the screening exercise.
UNICROSS also clarified that applicants are not required to appear physically for screening and should not travel to Calabar or any other campus for the exercise.
