The Sultan Maccido Institute for Peace, Leadership and Development Studies, University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) — now Yakubu Gowon University — has announced the commencement of admissions for its professional and postgraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the following general requirements:
O’Level Requirement
- Five (5) credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in WASC/NECO/GCE or equivalent
- Maximum of two sittings
Degree Requirement
- A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of Second Class Lower
PGD Exception
- A minimum of Lower Credit in HND, or its equivalent, may be accepted for PGD admission
National Service
- NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter required
PhD Requirements
- A basic degree
- A professional Master’s degree
- An MSc in a relevant field
All applicants will undergo a screening exercise to determine eligibility.
Programme Duration
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD): 9–24 calendar months
- Master’s Degree: 12–18 calendar months
- Professional PhD: 36–60 calendar months
- Certificate Courses: 12 calendar months
