PhD:

Fellowship in all clinical departments/specializations including Community Medicine (Public Health), Internal Medicine, Surgery, Psychiatry, Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Otorhinolaryngology, Radiology, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Pediatrics, Chemical Pathology & Immunology, Hematology & Blood Transfusion, Medical Microbiology & Parasitology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine, and Anaesthesia.

PhD from MSc:

Public Health, Internal Medicine, Anatomical Sciences, Medical Biochemistry, Human Physiology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics.

MSc:

Forensic Science, Clinical Research, Diabetic Education, Anatomical Sciences, Human Physiology, Medical Biochemistry, and Pharmacology and Therapeutics.

PGD:

Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants seeking admission to the programmes must fulfill the following entry requirements:

MBBS-PhD

Five (5) credit passes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English language & Mathematics (O’ level-WASC/NECO/GCE) at not more than two sittings
MBBS degree
Good scores at O’ level (WASC/NECO/GCE) or equivalent
Minimum weighted average of 65% at the 1st professional (2nd MB) examinations
BSc. in relevant subject is an advantage.

PhD from Fellowship

Five (5) credit passes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English language & Mathematics (O’ Level-WASC/NECO/GCE) at not more than two sittings
Fellowship of either Colleges (NPMCN or WACP/WACS)

PhD from MSc

Five (5) credit passes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English language & Mathematics (O’ Level-WASC/NECO/GCE) at not more than two sittings
Overall grade of “B” (60% and above) in relevant MSc degree

MSc

Five (5) credit passes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English language & Mathematics (O’ Level-WASC/NECO/GCE) at not more than two sittings
BSc degree in relevant subject/field

PGD Complementary and Alternative Medicine

Five (5) credit passes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English language & Mathematics (O’ Level-WASC/NECO/GCE) at not more than two sittings
MBBS or BSc in relevant fields (Pharmacy, Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science, and Physiotherapy)

DURATION

MBBS-PhD: Six (6) semesters (three sessions post MBBS degree)
PhD from Fellowship: Four (4) semesters (two sessions)
PhD from MSc: Six (6) semesters (three sessions)
MSc: Four (4) semesters (two sessions)
PGD Complementary and Alternative Medicine: Four (4) semesters (two sessions)
