UMTH Higher Diploma in Community Health Admission 2026/2027. University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), through its College of Community Health, has opened applications for admission into the Higher Diploma in Community Health for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The admission covers both one-year and two-year programme options, and candidates must meet all academic and professional requirements before proceeding with the application.
The process is strictly time-bound, with clearly defined deadlines for form sales, submission, and screening.
UMTH Higher Diploma in Community Health General Requirements
All applicants—regardless of programme duration—must meet the following conditions:
- Possess a Diploma in Community Health (CHEW)
- Hold a valid professional licence
- Have at least five (5) SSCE credits from WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB
- Results must be obtained in not more than two sittings
Required Subjects
The five credits must include:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Biology or Health Science
- Physics
- Chemistry
This subject combination is mandatory and strictly enforced.
Extra Requirements for the One-Year Programme
Candidates applying for the one-year Higher Diploma must also possess one of the following qualifications:
- B.Sc. in Community Health
- B.Sc. in Public Health
- B.Sc. in Health Education
Applicants without any of these degrees are not eligible for the one-year option and should consider the two-year programme instead.

The application fee varies by programme:
- One-year programme: ₦10,000
- Two-year programme: ₦5,000
