
Sule Lamido University University Preparatory Programme Admission for 2026/2027 Session; Sule Lamido University has started applications for its University Preparatory Programme (UPP) for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The programme is organised by the School of Preliminary and Continuing Education and is designed for candidates who need academic preparation before starting a full degree programme. Students who successfully complete the programme and meet the university requirements can gain admission into 100 level at the university.
About the SLU University Preparatory Programme
The University Preparatory Programme is a full-time programme that runs for one academic session.
The programme is structured to prepare students for university-level studies through teaching in different academic disciplines. Subjects are drawn from Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Management Sciences to help candidates build a strong academic foundation before entering degree programmes.

The programme is divided into three major study areas.
Applicants are expected to choose the area that matches their intended university course since the subjects taken during the programme may influence their future admission path.

SLU UPP Entry Requirements
Candidates with SSCE O’Level results or equivalent qualifications can apply under either Category A or Category B.
The category depends on the number of O’Level credits the applicant already has at the time of application.
Category A
Applicants under Category A must possess at least five O’Level credits in relevant subjects.
The credits must include:
- English Language
- Mathematics
The results must not be from more than two sittings.
Category B
Category B applicants must have at least three O’Level credits.
Candidates admitted under this category are expected to make up the remaining required credits before they can be considered for admission into a regular degree programme at the university.
SLU UPP Absorption Requirements
Candidates must satisfy certain conditions before they can move into 100-level degree programmes at SLU.
Applicants must:
- Pass the remedial programme
- Obtain five O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics
- Meet the minimum UTME score required by SLU
The university also stated that candidates who pass the UPP but have not yet met the UTME or O’Level requirement can still use their UPP result for two admission sessions.

The university has announced the official application period for the 2026/2027 session.

- Application closes: Monday, 29 June 2026
