Sule Lamido University Opens Postgraduate Admission for 2026/2027 Session; Sule Lamido University has announced the sale of postgraduate admission forms for the 2026/2027 academic session through its School of Postgraduate Studies.
The admission exercise covers Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master’s and PhD programmes across selected faculties and departments.
The application portal opens on Monday, 11 May 2026, and closes on Sunday, 19 July 2026.

SLU Postgraduate Admission Requirements
Applicants must possess five O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in relevant subjects.
Postgraduate Diploma Requirements
Candidates applying for PGD programmes must possess:
- A first degree with at least Third Class, or
- HND with at least Lower Credit from a recognised institution
Applicants must also meet the university matriculation requirements and any additional experience requirement prescribed by the university.
SLU clarified that OND plus professional qualifications or HD are not treated as equivalent to HND.
Master’s Degree Requirements
Candidates seeking admission into master’s programmes must satisfy one of the following:
- A minimum of Second Class Lower degree with CGPA of at least 2.75 on a 5.00 scale from a recognised university
- A Second Class Lower degree with CGPA between 2.40 and 2.74 plus a PGD with at least 3.00 CGPA (Merit)
- An HND with Upper Credit plus a PGD with at least 3.50 CGPA
The university may also accept equivalent qualifications approved by the School of Postgraduate Studies and Senate.
PhD Requirements
Candidates applying for PhD programmes must:
- Hold a recognised academic master’s degree
- Meet the master’s degree admission requirements
- Have a minimum CGPA of 3.50 in the master’s programme
