How to Apply for SSU Post-UTME 2026/2027
Candidates who meet the requirements can complete the screening application through the SSU online application portal.
The application process is as follows:
1. Check your eligibility
Visit the SSU screening application portal and enter your JAMB registration number. The system will display your eligibility status and the programme attached to your JAMB record.
2. Check your programme requirements
Click “More Information” beside the displayed programme. This will provide information about the course requirements, registration fee, programme duration, closing date and academic session.
Make sure your O’Level subjects and UTME score satisfy the requirements before proceeding.
3. Start your application
Select “Apply Now” to begin the screening registration.
Candidates who already have an account can log in using Google or the manual login option.
If you are applying for the first time, select “Sign Up with Google” or complete the manual registration form.
You will need a valid email address and phone number. A verification code will be sent to your email before the account is activated.
4. Pay the screening fee
After logging in, select “Proceed to Application Form.”
You will be taken to the payment page, where you will pay the ₦2,000 screening fee, plus any applicable transaction charges.
Follow the payment instructions displayed on the portal and confirm that the transaction is successful. You can check your payment status under Transaction History.
5. Complete the application form
After payment, fill in the required personal, academic and examination information.
Take your time at this stage. Errors in your JAMB number, O’Level information or other personal details could create problems later in the admission process.
6. Preview and correct your information
Select “Preview & Submit” to review the completed form.
If you notice an error, use the “Update Form” option to make the necessary correction before submitting.
7. Submit the form
Once you are satisfied that all the information is correct, click “Submit Form.”
Candidates should not consider the screening process complete until the form has been successfully submitted.
Who Can Apply for SSU Post-UTME?
UTME candidates are expected to meet the following conditions:
- They must have sat for the 2026 UTME.
- They must have selected Sokoto State University as their first-choice institution.
- They must meet the minimum UTME score for their chosen programme.
- Their O’Level results must have been uploaded to JAMB CAPS.
- They must have at least five relevant O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics where required.
- The required O’Level credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings.

What do Merit, ELDS and Catchment mean?
The three categories determine the minimum UTME score applicable to different groups of candidates.
Merit refers to the general cut-off score applicable to candidates who do not fall within the specified catchment or ELDS categories.
ELDS (Educationally Less Developed States) applies to candidates from Kebbi and Zamfara under the stated SSU admission arrangement.
Catchment applies to candidates from Sokoto State.
