About the Award:
The Rhodes Scholarships have traditionally been awarded in 20 constituencies (representing over 60 different countries). Now, the Rhodes Scholarships are fully global, allowing eligible candidates from the rest of the world to apply through two new Global Scholarships.

Selection Criteria: Rhodes Selection Committees look for young individuals of outstanding intellect, character, leadership, and commitment to service from 20 Rhodes constituencies (64 countries) worldwide. The four criteria governing the selection are:
- Literary and Scholastic Attainments: Academic excellence.
- Energy to Use One’s Talents to the Full: Demonstrated through mastery in areas such as sports, music, debate, dance, theatre, and artistic pursuits, especially involving teamwork.
- Truth, Courage, Devotion to Duty: Sympathetic protection of the weak, kindliness, unselfishness, and fellowship.
- Moral Force of Character: Instincts to lead and interest in one’s fellow beings.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Citizenship & Residency: Open to candidates from any country.
- Age: Must be between 18 and 24 years old on October 1 of the application year. Age limits vary slightly across constituencies, so check specific requirements.
- Education: Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree by the time of admission to Oxford, meeting both Rhodes and Oxford criteria. Some constituencies require the degree to be completed in the application year.
