OAU Announces Convocation Charges for the 49th Convocation Ceremony; The management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has released the approved convocation charges for all graduands participating in the upcoming 49th Convocation Ceremony. The University Administration has outlined the fees applicable to each academic category, as well as payment procedures and additional information for PhD graduands.
Approved Convocation Charges
The official convocation charges for the 2025 ceremony are as follows:
- Diploma Students: ₦30,000
- Bachelor’s Degrees: ₦40,000
- Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters, and MPhil: ₦45,000
- PhD Graduands: ₦60,000
All payments are to be made through the University e-portal under the Convocation Due section.
Important Notice for PhD Graduands
The university has announced that PhD gowns, caps, and hoods are limited in number. PhD graduands who wish to outrightly purchase the full gown set may do so at the cost of ₦50,000.

PhD graduands who purchase the gown are required to present evidence of payment before collecting their academic attire.
Collection of Convocation Materials
All graduands—across Diploma, Bachelor’s, Master’s, MPhil, and PhD—must present proof of payment of their convocation charges before they can collect their materials at their respective Faculties/Colleges.
