Notice to UNILAG DLI Students on 2024/2025 Residential Programme; The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially released the full schedule for its Distance Learning Institute (DLI) residential programme for the 2024/2025 academic session. The six-week programme is set to take place from Sunday, 7 September to Saturday, 18 October 2025, and it will include both academic activities and final examinations for all DLI students across levels.
Here’s everything you need to know—dates, deadlines, what to bring, and how to prepare.
Residential Schedule for All Students

For Year 3 to Year 5 Students:
- Arrival Date: Sunday, 7 September 2025
- Lecture Mop-up: Tuesday, 9 September to Saturday, 13 September
- GST Examinations: Saturday, 13 September
- Main Examinations Start: Monday, 15 September
- Main Examinations End: Saturday, 27 September
- Hostel Exit: Saturday, 27 September
For Year 1 and Year 2 Students:
- Arrival Date: Sunday, 28 September 2025
- Lecture Mop-up: Monday, 29 September to Saturday, 4 October
- GST Examinations: Friday, 3 October and Saturday, 4 October
- Main Examinations Start: Monday, 6 October
- Main Examinations End and Hostel Exit: Saturday, 18 October
What You Must Bring on Arrival
All DLI students must report to their allocated hostels with the following:
- Proof of full payment for the current session’s service charge
- Two printed copies of your accommodation slip
- Confirmation of medical registration from the UNILAG Medical Centre
No student will be allowed into the hostels without meeting these requirements.
Course Registration and Payment Deadlines
To be eligible for exams, students must meet strict deadlines:
For Year 3–5 Students:
- Fee Payment Deadline: Monday, 1 September 2025
- Course Registration Deadline: Friday, 5 September 2025
- Add/Drop Course Deadline: Wednesday, 10 September 2025
For Year 1 & 2 Students:
- Fee Payment Deadline: Monday, 22 September 2025
- Course Registration Deadline: Friday, 26 September 2025
- Add/Drop Course Deadline: Tuesday, 30 September 2025
⚠️ Note: No course registration changes will be accepted after the deadlines.
Exam Dockets and Passport Photograph Requirements
Each student is required to:
- Submit one recent passport photo for every course they registered for
- Print their exam docket during the following dates:
- Year 3–5 Students: Between 8 and 12 September 2025
- Year 1 & 2 Students: Between 29 September and 2 October 2025
These documents are mandatory for access to examination halls.
Final Year Project Defence Schedule
Students in their final year will defend their research projects between Saturday, 28 June and Saturday, 26 July 2025. Only students who are fully registered and up to date on all obligations will be allowed to defend their projects and write examinations.
Important Appeal to Employers
The Distance Learning Institute (DLI) appeals to employers of labour to kindly release their staff members who are DLI students. This will allow them to fully participate in the residential programme and complete their 2024/2025 sessional examinations without hindrance.
